Al Tanoura Folklore Dance Show Night Trip

Price Starting From : $50

Enjoy the Tanoura show and performances by spiritual music and Sufi dance groups, as well as folk groups like the Egyptian folk instruments team, which includes the most skilled musicians in Egypt playing traditional instruments. There are also performances by Nubian drum groups that present the ancient Nubian heritage to preserve the musical and rhythmic heritage that originated from the Nile River, along with heritage shows and dance tableaux presented by the national folk arts troupe.

The Tanoura Heritage Troupe, which performs its famous performances every Saturday and Wednesday of every week, attracts dozens of Arab and foreign tourists throughout the year in large numbers, to enjoy the artistic performances that rely on the dancer's skills in using and shaping skirts and their physical fitness with the use of musical phrases and various fast rhythms through folk musical instruments.

The collection still stands tall on both sides of Al-Moez Street, the world's largest open-air museum, where tourists from different cultures and nationalities flock to enjoy its architecture and decorations by day, and its cultural and artistic meals by night.

Tourists can visit the Dome and learn about these arts, and get up close and personal with Egyptian creators, in continuous evenings and evenings organised by the Egyptian Ministry of Culture, represented by the Cultural Development Fund, in cooperation with some cultural and artistic institutions.

These evenings and parties are attended by a group of Egyptian minstrels and musical, percussion and show bands that reflect the different regions and cultures of Egypt, most notably the Samaa Ensemble for Religious Chanting, which preserves heritage by reviving ancient templates such as the art of performing rare tawashihs and maqamat with a contemporary vision.

Our driver will wait for you in front of your hotel in Cairo or Giza around six o'clock to take you to Al Ghori Agency, a few steps away from the Qubba and near Al Azhar Mosque, Al Ghori Agency, established in 909 AH - 1503 AD, which was used as a commercial center, where Egyptian merchants and visitors from other countries would meet.

The agency consists of five floors, with an open rectangular courtyard in the center, where the five floors wrap around the courtyard. The first and second floors were used as shops for the sale and storage of goods, while the upper floors housed independent residences for merchants. The southern façade is the main façade of the agency and has the main entrance.

Since the end of 2000, the agency entered a five-year restoration project. In 2005, the Ghori Agency reopened its doors as an archaeological site and a cultural center, the Ghori Agency Centre for Traditional Arts, which works for the cultural and human development of the Islamic Cairo region by providing cultural services.

The center used to host performances by the Tanoura Heritage Troupe, but the coronavirus pandemic stopped those performances inside the agency and moved them to its neighbouring Al Ghori Dome.

One of the cultural services within the agency is its ‘ceremonies’ for visual artists, in which they create their paintings inspired by the heritage atmosphere that envelops the place. After the show, you will be transferred to your hotel.

It is an Egyptian "Tanoura" show inspired by the mystical practices of the dervishes, which has turned into popular folklore, presented in many places in Egypt, including the archaeological Ghouri Palace Theater, which dates back to Sultan qansuh Al-Ghouri, the last Mamluk sultan in Egypt.
"I choose the colors and shapes that adorn theTanoura myself," said Mohammed Adel, who inherited the art of tanoura dancing from his father and grandfather, on Al-Mu'izz Street next to the Thuraya neighborhood, moments before he took to the stage with his purple skirt decorated in green and yellow colors.

According to some, Tanoura can be described as an evolved representation of Sufi whirling dervishes, an important part of Sufism, known for its mysticism and spiritual mode of worship.

Cairo hosts a lot of Tanoura Folkloric Shows, especially in the evenings in the entertainment venues and in the tourist regions. Wekalet El Ghouri in Islamic Cairo, El Dammah Theater in the Al-Azhar neighborhood, and certain Nile River cruise ships that include supper and entertainment packages are a few of the well-liked places to see the performance.

The majority of Egyptians can comprehend or speak a few words in English. German, Italian, Spanish, and French may be spoken by certain Egyptians. Our knowledgeable guides are accustomed to working with guests who do not understand Arabic, and they will converse in English and other languages to accommodate the majority of tourists' demands.

Saqqara is a big place in Egypt where ancient Egyptians buried their kings. It is south of Cairo and has the oldest pyramid in Egypt, called the Step Pyramid of Djoser. Saqqara is also the biggest place in Egypt where people dig up old things from the past.

The Step Pyramid of Djoser is an old pyramid that was built in Egypt a long time ago. It was the first pyramid ever built by the Egyptians. The king who built it was Djoser, but his real name was Netjerykhet.

We don't know exactly how long it took to build the Egyptian Pyramids because they are very old and not much information from that time has survived. But people think it could have taken between 15 to 30 years to build each pyramid.
