In the evening, a Tour Leader experience will meet you in the lobby of your hotel or at your designated location to transport you to the following destinations:
We will head to Tahrir Square... The largest plaza in Greater Cairo, Egypt, is Tahrir Plaza, which was once known as Ismailia Square in honor of Khedive Ismail. Later, the name was changed to Tahrir Square to honor the 1919 Revolution's freedom from colonialism.
Then we move to the Cairo Tower. Built between 1956 and 1961, it was designed by Egyptian architect Naoum Shabib. Approximately 500 Egyptian workers participated in its construction... It assumes the form of a pharaonic flower, the lotus. Its construction cost approximately six million Egyptian pounds at the time. Americans called the tower "Nasser's Thorn," a reference to the steadfastness of Egypt's position at this stage.
Have a drink at El-Fishawy Café, a gathering spot for politicians and thinkers. Originally constructed in 1797 as a small buffet for Egyptian and foreign tourists, El-Fishawy Café is presently a three-room café located in an alley in Khan el-Khalili.
