Itinerary

One of our exclusive and exceptional Cairo Layover Tours, the Grand Egyptian Museum and Pyramids Tour, will commence with your arrival at Cairo International Airport, where an Egyptologist guide will await you, enhancing the pleasure of your transit tours in Cairo. The first destination of your layover tour is the Necropolis of Giza, where you will see the Great Pyramid of Cheops, the only surviving monument from the seven wonders of the ancient world, and the Pyramids of the Old Kingdom rulers Chephren and Mycerinus.

Your experience will include learning how the Pyramids were built, beginning with the Pyramid of Cheops, which was completed circa 2560 B.C. and stood 146 meters high. You will view the majestic Sphinx, the marvelous statue with a lion's body and that of a human head. The tour then resumes with a visit to the Valley Temple to understand the reasons for embalming in ancient Egypt, an important temple of the funerary complex of King Khafra that flanks the prescribed path of the mortuary temple.
