You shall join us on one of our half-day excursions to Islamic Cairo from the Cairo airport. The term 'Islamic' Cairo is used to set it apart from the nearby ancient Egyptian cities of Giza and Memphis, not to show an increase in the number of Muslims in the area. This area contains the largest and densest collection of historic buildings in the world, and all of them have been built since the advent of Islam.

Numerous important religious shrines are present in Islamic Cairo. These include the Mosque of Hussein. It Is Believed That The Shrine Contains The Head Of Hussein.

The building of the great fortress that would enclose the administration of Egypt was started in 1176 under Saladin and completed by his successors. Located near the Mokattam Hills, it overlooks Cairo from on high. It was the residence of Egyptian kings through much of their history till Great Time, and a lot changed by successive leaders. The Muhammad Ali Mosque, built by Muhammad Ali Pasha in the 19th century and still effectively controlling much of land with its position on top.

The first mosque built in Egypt was the Mosque of Amr at Fustat, yet it is Ibn Tulun and his namesake mosque that provide the most complete example of Abbasid architecture. The al-Azhar University, built in 970 AD (379H), is one of the most famous Fatimid Period monuments. It is claimed to be rivaled only by the University of al-Qarawiyyin in Fez (established in 859) as part of a mosque; currently, it is the world's leading Islamic education hub and one of Egypt's largest universities.

You will be joined by one of the top tour guides to take you along the historic boulevards and mosques of Islamic Cairo, where you will have an unforgettable experience.

Your Cairo transit tour begins with an unforgettable visit to the Sultan Hassan Mosque. It is one of the famous monumental mosques of Cairo. Described as the pearl of Islamic architecture in the East, it is considered the most harmonious monument of Islamic Cairo and represents the maturity of Mamluk architecture. It was built by Sultan al-Nasser Hassan bin al-Nasser Muhammad bin Qalawuns. The building consists of a mosque and a school for the four schools of thought (shafi'iya, hanafiya, malikiya, and hanbaliya) and also taught the sciences of Quranic exegesis, hadith, and the seven readings, in addition to two libraries for memorizing the Quran for orphans and teaching them calligraphy. The site of the mosque was formerly a market called “horse market” and had a palace built by Al-Nasser Muhammad ibn Qalawun for the residence of Prince Yalbagha Al-Yahyawee; later, Sultan Hassan demolished this palace and built this school in its place. Today, the mosque is located in Salah al-Din Square (Rumaila Square).

After that, we will start another valuable historical adventure to the atractive Saladin Citadel. Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi began the construction of a fortress on Mount Muqattam, in what became known as the Dome of the Air. He did not complete it during his lifetime. It was completed by Sultan al-Kamil ibn al-Adil. The first person to inhabit it was King al-Kamil, who used it as a royal residence. It was so until the time of Khedive Ismail. The Citadel of Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi in Cairo is perhaps the most opulent military castle constructed during the Middle Ages. Its location is of the first order due to defense significance since it includes the cities of Fustat and Cairo and has a high natural wall encasing the two cities, and the location can accommodate communication between the castle and the city.

You will also have the opportunity to see and visit the Mozquita of Mohamed Ali. It is one of Cairo's most renowned giant mosques. Sultan Ahmed Mosque in Istanbul was constructed in Ottoman style between 1830 and 1848 by Muhammad Ali Pasha. The widespread usage of this kind of marble for the covering of its walls has earned it the nickname "Alaster Mosque."

And then we go to Khan El Khalili, relive the colorful and fragrant oriental bazaars, where you can purchase authentic handicrafts and enjoy a local Egyptian tea. Islamic Cairo is lit up at sunset by its mysterious lights, and this tour is your gateway to a timeless heritage that captivates hearts and intellects.

After a day full of unforgettable visits, we take you back to your hotel.
