From its establishment in 1863 until the revolution of 1952, this palace witnessed 90 years of social and political events. History recalls that in 1867, Emperor Napoleon III of France invited Khedive Ismail to represent Egypt at the Universal Exhibition then being held in the French capital, “ Paris.”

You will be amazed by the grandeur of the Abdeen Palace and Square, which was the center of the new city and from which the streets radiated splendor and splendor. Abdeen Palace was built on the ruins of an old house owned by Abdeen Bey, a Turkish prince who served as the prince of the Sultan's brigade. When construction of Abdeen Palace began, several existing ponds were filled in and the land was leveled; several neighboring buildings were purchased and removed; and over the years, Khedive Ismail acquired neighboring properties until the land area reached about 25 acres, as recorded in the palace's title deed.
