Itinerary

A tour of the White Desert starts at your hotel to experience a 4×4 safari towards Bahariya Oasis and the White Desert. Driving four hours in a private air-conditioned vehicle from Cairo to Bahariya Oasis will take you through a short stopover.

The first activity after your arrival should be to study the prominent historical attractions in Bahariya Oasis. Observe the ancient burial site of the Valley of the Golden Mummies at its well-preserved tombs. Travellers should see the temple ruins that belonged to Alexander the Great after his conquest of Egypt in 332 B.C. before moving on to observe the Tombs of the Nobles built for prominent officials of the 26th Dynasty and the Temple of Ein Muftella, which operated as the vital religious centre of Al Qasr ancient city.

You can enjoy a delectable lunch at an establishment serving fresh organic food in the local area. Peacefully spend your evening at your hotel while you bathe in the natural hot springs. The late afternoon brought another opportunity to climb to the summits of Black Mountain through the use of a land cruiser. The remains of the "English House" located at the summit provide historical site access to admire sunset views across the oasis. Guests will stay overnight in Bahariya.

You will start your morning with hotel breakfast and then begin the journey to Bahariya Oasis. You will first visit a picturesque salt lake that borders Bahariya Oasis, then witness both the white desert in the Farafra Oasis and the beautiful golden dunes while admiring the green fruit gardens. Your meal stop will take you to a local Bahariya restaurant for a sumptuous lunch. The journey leads to an abrupt stop at the Black Desert with its dramatic volcanic features that stand out against the landscape. Travellers can experience hot spring baths at El Haize before it becomes the final village in southern Bahariya.

You should stop at the Crystal Mountain, which shows beautiful quartz formations, before entering the magnificent Agabat Valley. The site offers sandboarding riders an opportunity to enjoy its gentle dunes. When sunset approaches, you will watch the sunset, and your guides will cook dinner under the starlight at your White Desert campsite.
