Abdeen, one among Muhammad Ali Pasha's military generals, preserved its name and resided therein before it developed and was wrecked. Khedive Ismail loaded the palace from Abdeen Bey's widow after his death, destroyed, expanded his grounds for building, increased the area to 24 acres, and erected a huge, beautifully designed palace with exquisite decorations, already having obtained so many arts around its walls.
