It all begins at the Valley of the Kings, the sacred burial ground of the most powerful rulers of Egypt. A hidden necropolis, this desert cliff shelter houses the elaborately decorated burial tombs that once housed the mummies of great pharaohs such as Tutankhamun or Ramses II. Marvel at the intricate hieroglyphs and vibrant wall paintings telling stories about the afterlife. From there, you will head to the Temple of Hatshepsut, a breathtaking mortuary temple designed for one of Egypt's remarkable lady pharaohs. Its grand colonnades and terraces against the rugged cliffs make it truly an awesome sight.
After that, you will stop at the Colossi of Memnon, two towering statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III, which have been watching over Luxor for over 3,000 years. If you listen just closely enough, you might hear something about the statues "singing" at dawn, thanks to temperature changes! Finally, your tour ends at the magnificent Karnak Temple, an immense temple complex acting as the spiritual center of ancient Egypt.
