Tanoura Folkloric Show in Egypt

Price Starting From : $50

A visit to Egypt should include watching the Tanoura Folkloric Show because it provides viewers with authentic displays of traditional music together with dance and well-kept customs from past cultures. The name tanoura signifies the spinning dance which takes place as performers wear bright skirts while moving through graceful movements to joyous musical rhythms. Dancers conduct this performance per Sufi spiritual tradition because spinning movements allow them to create meditations that strengthen divine connections.

During the dance performance, the spinning performers display a beautiful spectacle as their multiple-colored skirts fly through the air and the music reaches a peak through live drums and the soulful Arabic oud. Both the reflective drumbeat rhythms and the methodical dance choreography maintain a trance-like effect on the spectators who watch. This performance serves as an artistic depiction of spiritual and cultural practices that Egyptians have maintained throughout their centuries of festivities.

You can find the Tanoura Folkloric Show staging events at Wekalet El Ghouri Arts Center in Cairo or equivalent traditional venues that create an enriching watching experience. Visitors attending this performance will experience Egyptian folkloric heritage while creating lasting memories since it offers tailored experiences for evening dates as well as cultural tours of the country.

It is an Egyptian "Tanoura" show inspired by the mystical practices of the dervishes, which has turned into popular folklore, presented in many places in Egypt, including the archaeological Ghouri Palace Theater, which dates back to Sultan qansuh Al-Ghouri, the last Mamluk sultan in Egypt.
"I choose the colors and shapes that adorn theTanoura myself," said Mohammed Adel, who inherited the art of tanoura dancing from his father and grandfather, on Al-Mu'izz Street next to the Thuraya neighborhood, moments before he took to the stage with his purple skirt decorated in green and yellow colors.

According to some, Tanoura can be described as an evolved representation of Sufi whirling dervishes, an important part of Sufism, known for its mysticism and spiritual mode of worship.

Cairo hosts a lot of Tanoura Folkloric Shows, especially in the evenings in the entertainment venues and in the tourist regions. Wekalet El Ghouri in Islamic Cairo, El Dammah Theater in the Al-Azhar neighborhood, and certain Nile River cruise ships that include supper and entertainment packages are a few of the well-liked places to see the performance.

The majority of Egyptians can comprehend or speak a few words in English. German, Italian, Spanish, and French may be spoken by certain Egyptians. Our knowledgeable guides are accustomed to working with guests who do not understand Arabic, and they will converse in English and other languages to accommodate the majority of tourists' demands.

Saqqara is a big place in Egypt where ancient Egyptians buried their kings. It is south of Cairo and has the oldest pyramid in Egypt, called the Step Pyramid of Djoser. Saqqara is also the biggest place in Egypt where people dig up old things from the past.

The Step Pyramid of Djoser is an old pyramid that was built in Egypt a long time ago. It was the first pyramid ever built by the Egyptians. The king who built it was Djoser, but his real name was Netjerykhet.

We don't know exactly how long it took to build the Egyptian Pyramids because they are very old and not much information from that time has survived. But people think it could have taken between 15 to 30 years to build each pyramid.
