Alexandria Port Authority is the largest port in the Arab Republic of Egypt in terms of area, capacity and operational capabilities, and Alexandria Port Authority occupies a leading position among the ports of Egypt in terms of the volume of commercial traffic, trading almost 60% of the volume of exports and imports.


The General Authority of Alexandria Port includes two affiliated ports, Alexandria Port and Dekheila port, with a number of specialized terminals for various types of goods, and they have all the operational and logistical services related to maritime transport activities supported by various modes of multimodal transport with its connection to a huge logistics and Industrial back

Alexandria Seaport occupies a leading position in the ports of the Arab Republic of Egypt in terms of the volume of commercial traffic, where about 60% of Egypt's foreign trade is traded.

A plan has been drawn up to expand the port of Alexandria to accommodate more traded goods, attract more companies and provide the best services supported by the latest technology . This will benefit Alexandria and Egypt, and indeed the Middle East region as a whole, because working to achieve this goal requires more effort from the port and Alexandria governorate officials alike.

The port of Alexandria was established in 1900 BC, and it went through many stages of development until the issuance of the decree of the late President Gamal Abdel Nasser, president of the United Arab Republic No. 3293 of 1966 with the competencies and responsibilities of the Alexandria Port Authority the Alexandria Port Authority was established by Law No. 6 of 1967 and the Republican Decree No. 494 of 1986 was issued to establish the port of Dekheila, as the Alexandria Port Authority is competent only to manage the port of Dekheila.
