The number of travellers arriving in Egypt by sea is steadily declining because of more affordable airfare and package deals, despite the fact that Egypt has multiple ports on both the Mediterranean and the Red Sea. The ferry service between Aqaba and Nuweiba is the lone exception. Other links have been cut off, including those between Greece and Cyprus.

A lot of historic churches, monasteries, and other significant religious locations, such as the Church of St. George and the Hanging Church, can be found in the region of Coptic Cairo. Beautiful and well-preserved building gives tourists a glimpse into the rich cultural history of the region.

Historical Importance: Built over a cave where the Holy Family—Mary, Joseph, and the infant Jesus—are supposed to have sought safety during their departure to Egypt, the church is thought to have been constructed in the fourth century. For Christians, it is a significant place of pilgrimage.
